Gary: That’s right. A language function is something that you do with language.
For example, a request is a language function.
You make a request when you ask someone to do something for you.
Eliz: Yes. We’re going to hear some requests in our first conversation.
We’re also going to hear Mr. Blake and the receptionist confirming information.
Now let’s listen to Mr. Blake checking into the Embassy Suites Hotel.
